Our Structure

Cottage School
Single Teacher, Single Room, Varying Students
In our drop-off, pick-up cottage school, students will still have the opportunity to gain the independence and initiative of traditional schooling, but this model allows us to have a class of all ages and abilities, creating a community within the school that encourages collaboration, fellowship, and real-world skills. Our one-room approach allows us to have small class sizes where we can provide individualized learning for each student.
Your child would be considered homeschooled, but we would be the ones doing the teaching. Transcripts, grades, and mastery reports will be provided for each student.

Schedule
While we are still preparing to best serve your students, we have not yet determined a set schedule. Please feel free to provide input when you request more information.
Ideally, there are two schedules that we can choose to follow. In both models, the school day would not be more than 4 hours long:
1. Your child’s class would meet 2-3 days a week for instruction and implementation. Continued study/work would be required at home in this case.
2. Your child’s class would meet 4 days a week for instruction, implementation, and work time. There would still be the occasional practice at home, but the load would be lighter in this case.

It Takes a Village
Have you ever experienced your child stirring God in your heart? Now, imagine a 6 year old doing that for a 13 year old or vice versa. As these kids pray and fellowship together, they will find Christ’s community and learn how to talk to others about God.
Our community extends beyond the classroom. With planned parent workshops, families will be integrated and involved in their child’s learning. It’s important for students AND their parents to know that they have a team of adults advocating for them and loving them. Your child’s teacher is a resource for you just as much as you will be a resource for them!
While Friendship Scholar’s Academy encourages community and resource finding alongside gaining academic and Biblical knowledge in the classroom, these skills will transfer through our children into their world around them.

Who We Serve
Friendship Scholar’s Academy is currently able to serve students that would traditionally be in Kindergarten to 8th grade. (Ages 5-13)
Students will not be assigned to grade levels, but instead their learning will be tailored to meet their needs and best use their time at school.
-
Curriculum & Cost
With each student receiving individualized instruction, a variety of standards-driven curriculum will be used alongside supplemental resources.
Current classes offered are: Bible, English/Language Arts (Reading and Writing), Math, Science, and Social Studies.
We look forward to offering enrichment classes in the future.
As we launch the Friendship Scholar’s Academy, we are still determining operating costs and tuition. As soon as we have a set tuition cost, it will be sent immediately to those on our mailing list! Please stay tuned for that information!
